Goal Posts

There’s no blue plaque there to commemorate it, but this was the site of countless winning goals, normally against the Germans or FA Cup rivals, but always in front of a deafening home crowd, normally in the dying seconds of extra time, although sometimes, if needed, you could still win on penalties if it really came to it.

These might not be your goalposts (or wheelie bins as some people call them) or back lane, but it was someone’s 🙂
