Description

This is a FRAMED – SIGNED ORIGINAL acrylic onto A3 recycled paper by Steve Bonds from his “From the Terraces” Series.

These original paintings from Steve are vibrant and very energetic; they really complement the simple frames and make a great focal point in the room. I can’t work out if these are really, really 1980s or really, really Mid Century; either way, they add some drama!.
from his “From the Terraces” Series

FAQ from Steve

Question – “That’s a strange place to paint – why you painting that?”

Short Answer -There is no better place to paint, now go away 🙂

Really long Answer –
We had to share the front of the house, it belonged to everyone, the road was bigger, but you had to share it, the back lane, behind the house, on other hand was ours and ours alone, It morphed from Wembley to Brands Hatch and then back again, it was where Dave Pearson invented “foot tennis” using Mrs Abbots folding clothes horse thing after his Grandad had made him watch 4000 hours of Wimbledon one Sunday, and, although there’s no blue plaque there to commemorate the achievements, it was where we all scored countless goals (normally against the Germans or FA cup rivals, but always in front of a deafening home crowd) in the dying seconds of extra time, although sometimes, if needed, you could still win on penalty’s, if it came to it.
Pete Murphy’s brother’s front wheel fell off during a wheelie, and he still managed to jump over 4 bins without crashing.
It was where you found out that all girls in Spain are desperate to get off with anyone English (Liam went there on holiday, so he should know) and that Paul Saxby’s summer holiday hadn’t really been at his Grans house in Ireland, which is what him Mum said, but had actually been on a secret service training island off the coast of Hong Kong, where he’d beaten up Bruce Lee (who apparently wasn’t really dead) during a disagreement about Adidas trainers.
It was where you realised that taking apart an RD350 or PX125 engine created more mess than you’d have thought and was a lot easier than putting it all back together.
It was where you discovered the sheer joy of the music that would stay with you forever, literally your whole life, and then, just as most of the crowd were off the pitch and thought it was all over, there was that time with Claire from the shop, what an absolute result that was.

This picture might not be my lane, or yours, but it was someone’s, at some time, and that makes it very, very special 🙂
So to recap – There is NO BETTER PLACE to paint, now go away.
